Instructor Katie Billingham – 07885 293088
Hagley club was founded in September 2008, by Instructor Katie Billingham. We train every Friday night at Haybridge Sports Centre, attached to Haybridge High School. This is one of our largest venues, giving the large group of beginners plenty of space to train. Shower facilities are also available.
Hagley is the main beginners class in the area, offering a safe and friendly environment where fitness, skills and confidence can all grow. It’s always hard starting out as the beginner, but at Hagley you won’t be alone. The class is divided up for young starters and older starters to both get the training they are looking for. The junior class begins at 5pm, and has a large group of lively youngsters aged 4 upwards. The fast pace class offers fun, games and fitness, but also helps the juniors to get to grips with some of the more philosophical elements of taekwondo such as courtesy and perseverance. We also take the time to learn the often confusing Korean terms in a fun way. All the games are designed to build solid foundations for a strong future in both mind and body.
The second class is for those who wish to take their martial arts journey more seriously. We work faster, harder and smarter, pushing our fitness and skills with each session, challenging ourselves as we work our way up through the grades. Most people will choose to do a second or third session each week at one of our other venues nearby in order to progress more quickly. See the full list of classes for details.
